Tarot Card of the Week: The Hierophant

The Hierophant card from the Universal Waite Tarot Deck.

Using the Universal Waite Tarot Deck, the card I drew was The Hierophant.

This card symbolizes traditional values, structures, and social conventions. Education, marriage, and religion are examples of traditions or social conventions that The Hierophant represents. Also, this card stands for institutions and their values, and the need to conform to their rules.

This week you may be confronted with a situation in which you decide that the best way to deal with it is to handle it in a way that has traditionally been successful. You may have to work within existing structures.

Situations surrounding social conventions may present themselves to you. Use common sense or traditional solutions to help solve any issues that may arise. This could include study or education, or ritual or methodical approaches.

Now may not be the time to think outside the box.

You may find solace and guidance in spirituality, specifically in rituals or ceremonies.

May your week be filled with joy!

Tarot Card of the Week: Nine of Wands

Nine of Wands card from the Universal Waite Tarot Deck.

Using the Universal Waite Tarot Deck, the card I drew was the Nine of Wands.

This card depicts a man surrounded by eight large wands; he is leaning on the ninth wand. His head is bandaged, as if he has been fighting in battle. He is surrounded by the wands, which could represent obstacles in his way. He appears apprehensive about overcoming these obstacles.

Things may start smoothly, but you may hit a roadblock or setback this week. It could be the Universe saying that it is time for a break to regroup and plan your next move. You may wonder if you can even take it anymore. Should you just give up? Although he has been injured, the man in the card looks like he still has strength and determination left in him.

You are close to reaching that goal, closer than you may realize. Don’t allow fear to immobilize you and prevent you from achieving what you desire, dig deep for courage. Regain your strength, evaluate what needs to happen, and go for it again.

As I was meditating upon this card, lyrics from an Eagles song popped into my head — “Take it to the limit, one more time.” That lyric fits this card. And why not enjoy the song as well while you are here.

Have a good week!
