Card of the Week: The Empress

The Empress from the Universal Waite Tarot Deck.

I drew The Empress from the Universal Waite Tarot Deck for the card of the week.

The Empress depicts a Mother Goddess type of woman; she is sitting in a vast lush, meadow. She is the embodiment of fertility, love, emotion, and abundance. She also symbolizes the creation and sustaining of life through loving care and devotion. The Empress may also symbolize giving yourself emotionally.

This is a week of nurturing and abundance. Take comfort in what is around you. Allow yourself to be nurtured and taken care of. Go to a place that makes you feel safe and comfortable. This could be in your home, or the home of a friend or relative. Did someone offer to make you a home-cooked meal? Take them up on it.

Go out into nature and feel the energy, it will revitalize you. For my friends up North, go to an indoor greenhouse or botanical garden. Spend time with your pets or caring for your houseplants.

This week, nurture and love YOU and do that which brings you comfort.

Card of the Week: The Lovers

The Lovers card from the Universal Waite Tarot Deck.

As I was shuffling for the card of the week, several cards jumped out, but only one card flipped up. The Lovers. This is the card of the week.

The Lovers card depicts a man and woman with an angel flying above them. The imagery is a nod to the Biblical description of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden.

This card could represent a relationship, or the need to make a choice. There may be a new relationship ahead, changes to your current relationship, or the need to confront an issue in a relationship.

This week, you may realize that changes need to be made, or that you need to make a decision. Gentle and honest reflection and communication will be necessary, either with yourself or someone close to you.

In the background there is a mountain, it seems to stand between the man and woman. There may be something which challenges your current philosophies, or is blocking your communication, but it needs to be confronted before you can move forward. The angel in the card signifies that Divine inspiration is there to help guide you as you communicate and make your decision.

Card of the Week: The Magician

The Magician card from The Universal Waite Tarot Deck.

From the Universal Waite Tarot Deck, The Magician appeared as this week’s card.

The card depicts a magician holding a wand up with one hand, and his other hand is pointing down. On the table in front of him are tools that he uses. There are lush flowers above him and on the ground below him. The Magician is someone who can manifest power; he can channel energy and bring things into reality. He is confident in his abilities, and uses them wisely.

New experiences may present themselves to you this week. It could be in the form of something new happening, or that you are given an opportunity that you may need or want to take action on. The Magician indicates that you have the potential to control your environment. You have the knowledge and the tools. This knowledge can empower you and allow you to realize that you have the power within you and the resources around you to manifest the reality you desire.
