The Aquarian Tarot is the deck that I pulled from for the card of the week. I drew the Ace of Rods.
This card depicts a healthy and strong flowering stem coming up with flowers blooming at the top, and two buds along the side of the stem that are starting to grow. Aces in Tarot represent new beginnings, and the suite of Rods (Wands) is about energy, creativity, passion, ambition, determination. Rods or Wands is associated with the element of fire.
This week is the time to start that project or implement that idea that has been a fire in your belly. You have the drive to do it, now create it! With focus, and enthusiasm, nothing can stop you.
This week’s card comes from Animal Totem Tarot. The card I drew was Seven of Swords / Ferret.
The ferret on this card appears to be hoarding swords, there are seven of them that he has “collected.” The ferret is from the weasel family, and can move easily, and stealthily, through tight places. This ability teaches us that stealth can be a form of protection, and also can be part of play. There may be a need to keep things hidden at times. But there is a difference from doing it to benefit ourselves, or to harm others.
This week, there may be a reason to hide the truth. Are you manifesting a new project, and in order for it to grow you need to keep the energy around it protected? Or, have you kept a secret hidden for too long now that it may not be harmless anymore?
Message from Ferret:
“We all have a sneaky side. It is a necessary skill for our survival. Whether you have to be the one who is sneaky, or be the one able to spot others in their sly ways, the art of deception is not to be taken for granted. Smoke, mirrors, and sleight of hand all have their place; the real trick is knowing when and where to use them.”
As I was shuffling the Universal Waite Tarot Deck, the Two of Wands jumped and flipped face up, so this is the card of the week.
The Two of Wands depicts a man, holding a small replica of the world in his hand, and he is looking out in the distance, over his land and his successes as well as successes to come. This card symbolizes someone who is strong, successful, and powerful, on the verge of more to come.
Do you feel you are at a point in your life now where you feel secure with what you have achieved? Do you have more security and stability now than ever before? If not yet then it is possible that you will feel that way soon. Be open to the opportunities that may exist for you in the world.
I also get a sense that this card could be interpreted based upon what we as a society are going through right now. Many may be wondering where we are headed, what will happen in the world. How things have changed so much. There may be feelings of nostalgia.
Things always change, that we cannot prevent. However when I have looked at history, humans have overcome difficult challenges, including wars and pandemics. Although things change, and there has been great hardship and sadness, we learn from it, and have overcome and thrived. I believe we will get there again, in time.
